National Labour Office – Small Area Unemployment Statistics System
This long running project consisted of
- preparing an extensive feasibility study for the methodology and an information system which provides reliable monthly statistical estimations for various employment data on city, NUTS 3 (county), NUTS 2 (statistical regions) and NUTS 1 (country) levels and it also provides data for the reliability of these estimates
- developing and testing the data analysis methodology: estimation functions for spatial adjustment and Kálmán-filtering for time series adjustments
- developing the software and databases, using data supplied regularly by the National Labour Office and the Hungarian Central Statistical Office
- deploying, operating and maintaining the SAUS information system
The data analysis methods used in SAUS include regression modeling, jackknife variance estimation and time series analysis.
